A spring favorite are red and yellow tulips in the large formal center garden with neighboring five acre private estate in the background which dates back to the mid 1800's.

Center Garden in early July
Planted with perennials and annuals, colors are ever changing in the formal center garden that can be viewed as one passes the main house structure, or from the Lady Anne Room balcony, or two large patios.
Protected by ornamental grasses, barberry bushes and large hostas, the pond has numerous water lilies that provide shade for fish and frogs plus provide gorgeous large flowers when in bloom. Great views of the pond from the Lady Anne Room balcony, the elevated patio, and sandstone patio adjacent to the pond.

A colorful flower pot with water falls in the background
One of over two dozen flowers pots and urns are planted by the inn hosts annually adding wonderful color to various locations on the grounds. In the background is the three foot waterfalls built by the hosts using brown sandstone from a local sandstone quarry. Water flows rapidly down a short stream over a couple of small water falls then under the walk bridge before falling into the pond. Many guests have left the Lady Anne room balcony door ajar at night to listen to the water falls however the sounds from frogs sometimes is louder than the water falls.
